Computer is down :(
Today was beautiful and sunny. It was also a suprise to be hit with a balmy 28ish degree warmth.
But something got me frustrated when we got home from shopping at Knox… my computer had crashed!
I tried rebooting in safe mode, recovery disks, but nothing can solve the problem. Everytime it tried booting into Windows, it would just restart again ![]()
So what now?! I can’t just reformat the thing because I have stuff on the Desktop and My Documents that I want to recover so I’m going shopping for a hard disk enclosure, whack my HD in there and plug it into my lappy and burn off my stuff to DVD, then I’ll reformat that sucker!
It couldn’t have come at a worse time because I’m doing wedding planning, photography and videography editing for 2 customers (trying to complete before my wedding in 4 weeks).
Luckily I can use my work lappy to stay connected to the ‘net

Please Wong… can I get one???
After Wong had left to go shopping with her sister and mum at Southland, one of my mates from way back, Chris Hidalgo, dropped by to show off his new toy and have a chat to catch up.
Then after watching the Taekwondo episode of Human Weapon, I took his baby for a spin around the block and soooooooooooooo missed the feeling of having my own motorbike!
At least I got some action before tying the knot so to speak
Finally got invited!
Our wedding invitations have arrived… finally!
We’ve been waiting since last month for them and we received them with 29 days to go before our wedding! Now it’s time to get cracking and send these babies out!
The delivery address was Wong’s work so over the past few weeks, I’d be calling Wong at work around lunch time almost every second day (because I couldn’t wait to ask her until we got home!) and ask, “have we got ‘em yet?” and then be let down
As you can see, our very good friend, and one of my groomsmen, Arturo Rivas, did a fantastic job designing our invites. Thanks Art!!! You’re totally the best graphics guy and Wong and I are so grateful for helping us with our invites
Addicted to Heroes
Wong and I can’t get enough of our favourite TV show at the moment, Heroes!
My favourite character is Hiro Nakamura. There are other characters with stronger and awesome abilities, but I’ve always wanted to be able to stop time or teleport whereever I wished, and such is the power of Hiro!
Heroes is an American science fiction television drama series created by Tim Kring, which premiered on NBC[1] The early plot tells the stories of disparate and ordinary individuals from around the world who inexplicably develop superhuman abilities, and whose lives become gradually intertwined as they each find themselves in a similar path to save the world. The series also explores how these people adapt to the changes these abilities bring, and their roles in preventing catastrophes and saving humanity. The series emulates the aesthetic style and storytelling of American comic books, using short, multi-episode story arcs that build upon a larger, more encompassing arc. – Credit: wikipedia.org
1 month to go!
It’s October 9 which means that in exactly one month, Wong and I will be husband and wife!
I can’t wait until we’re married because we won’t have to worry about:
- Organising the reception
- What we should be doing for the ceremony (my family is Catholic, Wong’s is Buddhist)
- Seating arrangements
- Catering
- Who to invite, who we wish we could invite
- The amount of money we’re spending!
- Transportation
- … I’m sure I can think of more!
Once we’re married, then we can just relax and enjoy going fishing, long drives, hanging out with friends and family more often, etc… rather than spending almost every day and weekend planning
Konichiwa and Sayonara Chinatsu!
One of my students from Japan, Chinatsu was in Brisbane for a few weeks.
We caught up for lunch when she was down in Melbourne. I took her to one of my favourite Malaysian restaurants in the city, Hawkers Cafe on Russel St.
It was so funny! She couldn’t stop saying to the waitress, “Thanks mate! That’s great mate! Alright mate!” in her cute Japanese accent! The funny thing was that the waitress being fully Malaysian, didn’t know how to respond, so she just smiled and nodded
Thanks for taking the time to come down to see me Chinatsu and hope to catch up again!
Don’t you just love the Japanese how they can’t have a photo taken without the “peace” sign! Gosh I miss Japan!
