A very busy, yet relaxed Saturday

Wong and I met up with Gaby and Ludo at St Kilda Pier late in the afternoon.

I texted Arturo to come along but totally forgot he was in Darwin for the weekend for work.  I received a reply from him with Pete’s number but didn’t read it until we were already at the beach.  Sorry Pete :(

I’m so envious of Gaby and Ludo that they live so close to St Kilda Pier!  10mins walk to be exact!

I’ve been trying to convince Wong for us to move to the city or inner city at least but she won’t have any of it.  She’s very happy living in Scoresby because friends and family are relatively close, but most of all, her work is literally just around the corner from our house!

There were a few people fishing and they did catch a couple of small fish.

Wong and I can’t wait till after our wedding.  We’ve got a few things we want to do like, get a dog, buy a dingy, and then fishing!

Nov 9 we get married, then a week honeymoon in Thailand and a week in the Philippines.  I expect December to come and go in a blink of an eye.

Thanks Gaby and Ludo for shouting us dinner!

But more than anything, thanks for your company, your stories, and your smiles!  You two are really great company and we are blessed to have such fantastic friends like you in our lives :)

Next stop, Springvale South

After seeing Gaby and Ludo off and digesting the delicious bangers and mash I had for dinner, Wong and I went to surprise Sheryl.  It was great because Wong’s mum and Ashley were there.  I hadn’t see Ash in ages, and she has grown a lot as well as developed an great amount of vocabulary since I last saw her which was a few months ago.  It’s just amazing to see how much kids can pick up!

Poker Face

On our way home, I checked my Facebook on my mobile (at the lights of course!) and thanks to Z’s status update, I learned that Lenan was at Straits playing Texas with the boys.  So with the Commander in Chief’s (AKA Wong) permission, we detoured and had a round of Poker as well.  Buy in was $20, we were up about $10 in 10mins, then lost it all 10mins later.  I could tell Wong was getting tired and the cigarette smoke was getting to her so we went all in and lost to Richie by one card!  We had J-Q, he had J-A… ouch!

  • Wong & Glenn,

We are really happy that the feeling is mutual! After having dinner we were saying how nice it was to have you guys around and we were asking ourselves ‘how come we left it ’til now to catch up!!’. Loved the stories and, oh boy! had a good laugh. Hope in the next few weeks everything goes smooth for both of you!

    Hasta la vista babes!!

  • Don’t forget to try the oni-giri and mochi cream when you get to Japan!
